The front of these earrings have a beautiful geometric pattern in red, white and black. The have a gentle curved surface and the back is finished with an attractive texture. This is one of my favourite colour combinations!

These earrings have a striking white geometric pattern on a background of red and black resulting in an interesting optical illusion of a 3D effect. They were designed and made by me in my Queensland studio outside Brisbane.
The technique used to make the patterns involves impressing raised templates into layers of coloured clay with precise pressure to make sure there the imprint is just deep enough to allow each layer to form part of the overall pattern. The surface layers of the clay are then carefully "shaved" a little at a time to reveal the pattern. This process is done very slowly to avoid ruining the overall pattern and results in this intriguing effect.
